New Initiatives of the Directorate on Reducing Imports and Promoting Localization
The Directorate for the Management of Small and Youth Industrial Zones of Tashkent City held roundtable discussions in an open dialogue format with entrepreneurs operating in the Yakkasaroy Small Industrial Zone. The main objective of these meetings was to reduce the volume of imports in the industrial zones and increase the level of localization in production.
In this regard, a special showroom was established within the Directorate’s premises. This showroom displays products that are currently being imported from abroad, providing entrepreneurs with a clear view of potential items for local production. The aim is to guide them in launching new projects, increasing production volumes, and creating competitive products for the domestic market.
The key focus areas of the Directorate in reducing imports and promoting localization are as follows:
-
Identifying local suppliers and supporting localization – involving domestic enterprises in the production of import-substituting goods.
-
Developing new markets and projects, strengthening cooperation – establishing industrial cooperation among participants of industrial zones.
-
Providing training and consulting services – equipping entrepreneurs with knowledge and skills tailored to their needs.
-
Assisting in attracting government support and boosting export potential – encouraging export-oriented projects.
-
Full support for new projects – offering comprehensive “turn-key” solutions.
Through these initiatives, the Directorate aims to encourage local manufacturers, diversify industrial activity, and expand opportunities for young entrepreneurs.
